Theater... are we smart enough?

Nowadays, theater is seen as a thing of the elite. its expensive, its seen as overclass and for to manny people, its really not even interesting.

I wanted to tell you about this because this is my future. this is what i want to make my profession, my main interest, my life. for those of you not interested in theater i just want to ask you one thing.
why is it not interesting?
dont you like it becaus you feel to stupid for it? dont you like it because you feel like you have seen it before? dont you like it becaus you cant afford it and tell your self its not worth it, or are you just to lazy to get your sorry ass out of the house and into society?

theater is a place to spread knowledge and opinions to the people. its a place to teatch people things they could not lern anyware else. it is a place to entertane and be entertaned and i love it because i can be the one to chanel knowledge to the once that watch me.

if you think theater is so boring, why do you like movies so mutch?

Yours sincerely

  1. I think many young peoples are not ware wath kind of great and special institution the theatre really is. They have not discovered it yet. They do not know that all kinds of art flows from the theater in some sort - they do not know that theatre is the art of the moment - that "Actor-actress" is the moust demanding profession in the world, and that the actor haft to play his part - no matter what. Today I watched the news - we said goodbye to one of the leading theatre-persons in Norway, Wenche Foss. Her best friend, the actor Toralv Maurstad said that he had to play on the National Theatre this evening to - like he did the day his father died. That is the actors responsebility to the art.
We own it all to this great and demanding art!

  3. I thin it might be becuase good theatre challenges people, and moves you in ways that often is uncomfortalbe. Most people don´t watn that. Most people want to sit at home in their chair and watch something unchallenging because their lives are comlicated enough as it is.

A good theatreplay for me is a challenging play that sticks in my mind, makes me think, makes me judge the way I think and live my life. And that is challenging and often uncomfortable. For me it is necessary because it helps me evaluate the way I live my life and sometimes the prejudice I feel. How many people can del with facing their own prejudice?

I think the people who go to theatre plays want a greater meaning for theis lives, and might want to be provoked. To be challenged.

Write more about theatre. I think it is interresting to read about, and that everyone who works with emotions and storytelling needs it to challenge themselves to be better. Ourselves.
