Like an insane jester.

A good speaker can change the world.
A good speaker can make people happy or sad.
A good speaker can enlighten people or cover their minds with a few well placed words.
A good speaker can gather the masses og tare them apart.
A good speaker can controll people.
A good speaker can be God.

A jester is a good speaker.
What if he is insane?

Yours sincerely

  1. Hmm. dype tanker, indeed. If actions speak louder than words, then how can the pen be mightier than the sword? Min konklusjon: mennesker har telepatiske evner.

  2. Why jesters? Being a jester was merely a job in the old days and nothing more. In the time when Kings ruled countries, poor people would try their best to serve the king through music, dance, wit, story-telling etc. An insane person wouldn't be hired. Preferably someone with education, and who was able to take and folow orders, so when he was asked to shut up, he'd shut up.
Perhaps the closest thing you can come to 'an insane jester' are the minstrels in the streets. They were the ones who travel and entertain on the streets because they cannot get themselves hired as court jesters. They could be 'dangerous' if they were political, but very few were and only paid attention to their art and lyric poetry and performing...

So seriously dude. WHY JESTERS? Because they look cool? Because some people believe clowns to be evil? Because The joker in the batman comics was a villain? Why?

Rather think: A political leader in our modern world needs to be eloquent. It is required of him to be a good speaker. Now ask yourself...what if the net person about to lead us is insane?

  3. a jester did not nesesarily need to be a hired man in the royal court. they allso wondered around, telling people or crouds storries of entertaning and or political content. they could aksualy be one of the causes of riots and rebelions in earlier days. so that was the type of jesters i was talking about. not the politicaly corect schooled once, but the once fighting the system and living to entertain and teach people about things they did not know from befor.

  4. Yes, those were called 'minstrels' dear :)
A jester was more of a 'working class hero'.
Minstrels weren't employed. I think of them as true bohemians. And no bohemian ever said they were sane.
